Palmera’s Sales and Inventory with Mobile Ordering Experience

This is our thesis project way back 2016. We had the opportunity to work with Palmera Dimsum House Sales and Inventory with Mobile Ordering experience that engages with staff and customers to help their life much easier.

As I assigned to build the UI/UX of our windows and mobile application, I developed clickable prototypes, wireframes and user flows for the both application to enhance the user engagement. In collaboration with owner and developer, we strategized the process of their sales and inventory to improve Palmera’s manual process of inventory and ordering.

Windows and Mobile App: Staff and customer survey

Problem: Palmera Dimsum House is using a manual process in their daily operations, which causes slower services. In their current process, problems like missing orders and loss of data could possibly occur. In computing payments, the company sometimes encounters a miscalculation in summing up the payments of their customers. Sometimes it leads to excess amount of change or insufficient change to the customer. They checks their inventory of perishable goods daily while others like condiments is every 5 days that sometimes leads to shortage due to incorrect estimation of raw products to be used in that particular day and mishandling of inventory.

Objective:  Developed an app to improve the processes of Palmera Dimsum House with their daily transactions to be more efficient and more accurate. And to;

  • Avoid loss of customers due to slow ordering process.

  • Avoid inaccuracy when recording the purchased orders of the customers.

  • Avoid miscalculation of orders and change.

  • Prevent shortage due to inefficient monitoring of inventory.

  • Prevent unauthorized personnel to tamper important documents.

We centered our biggest decisions around on ow to improve the process with their daily transactions to be more efficient and more accurate:

WINDOWS APP PROTOYPE >

We developed a Computerized Sales and Inventory System with Mobile Ordering that will help Palmera to compute the sales accurately, monitor the inventory to avoid shortage, and to improve services to customers through mobile ordering.

The computerized system will automatically record the products released to the customers or the purchased product and it's automatically compute the total amount of orders of the customers and their change. It gives faster information for their inventory by linking the ordering products to inventory. When the orders are processed, all the raw products used will be automatically deducted from the inventory. The system will also notify the staff when there are only few raw materials left to avoid shortage.

The computerized system will provide an account where the employees can access the confidential information by means of assigning authorized profiles.

We developed a mobile ordering app for the staff of Palmera to have the customer’s orders done without falling in line and the orders will directly send to the system and soon will be processed.
